Save the Date Explosion

I wanted to share my fun little Save-the-Date/Wedding Invitation project that I did for our family who attending our wedding last month. I got the idea here.

Although I wasn't able to find confetti poppers, I used the little tin cans used for wedding favors. I got many compliments on these, but I definitely wouldn't suggest them for larger weddings! It took me about 4 hours to make 10 of them, but they were a special surprise for our family.

When they pulled on the tab, all the confetti spilled out! And yes, I hand punched all the confetti hearts. I now know my way around Hobby Lobby. I wrapped the invitations in brown paper and raffia and sent them off!

New adventures as a Newly-Wife

Hi Friends!

I don't really consider myself a writer, but for a long time I've been wanting to start a blog. I've thought and thought what I want it to be about. There are so many things I love, it's hard to narrow it down to one interest. So, I decided to do something a little different.

I recently married my high school sweetheart and love of my life at a private ceremony in Orlando.

We wanted to be married in time for his upcoming deployment, and we'll be having a larger wedding on our first anniversary next year for all our family and friends.
Ben leaves this month for six months. I am so sad, but there's so many things I want to learn about and try while he is away! I want my blog to be a place where I can share my experiences with others, and hopefully make some new blogger friends who might be going through the same thing.

I'll be blogging about my intentions of learning to cook (something besides a good box of Mac & Cheese and tacos), my year to wedding plan, my photography exploits, house decorating & a few DIY projects here and there. I'll also be making sure to keep the blog updated with deployment stuff- so our family and friends can know what's going on in Ben's life.
